A pet is a living being, with feelings and needs. Whether it is a dog or a cat, you must be aware of the time and money involved in an adoption.
How do I know if I am ready to adopt :
- I have a stable income that will allow me to pay for food, veterinary fees and everything else necessary to make him happy
- I am aware that I will have to be patient and educate him (he/she will inevitably make mistakes, but this is part of his training)
- I commit myself to take him out several times a day (even if I have a garden) whether it rains, sells or snows.
- And above all, I commit myself to stay close to him for the rest of his life.
If you feel ready and you checked all the boxes, don't hesitate anymore! Your life's companion is waiting for you.
Take the time to visit several shelters and meet several suitors, this is not a choice to be taken lightly.
On the day of the adoption, everything must be ready! Your new companion should feel at home. Water, some food, and most importantly, a tour of his new home.
The day of the adoption will be an emotional day for him, you must give him time.
